Pratamnak, Pattaya in November 2026: ITF tennis at Royal Cliff, where to stay and what to see nearby

In mid-November the Royal Cliff courts on Pratamnak host the ITF Masters tennis tournament. Here's where to stay on the hill those days, what's within walking distance and what else is going on in Pattaya in the second half of November.

Pratamnak in Pattaya is a quiet green hill between the noisy center and Jomtien, and in mid-November it gets a little livelier. The Fitz Club tennis center on the grounds of the Royal Cliff hotel hosts the ITF Masters - an international tournament for players aged 35 and over. The organizers haven't announced the exact 2026 dates yet, but in recent years the tournament has run in the third week of November: in 2025 it was November 15-21. Here's where to stay on Pratamnak during those days, what to see nearby and what else is happening in Pattaya in the second half of the month. What kind of tournament is it? It's a stage of the ITF World Tennis Masters Tour in the MT700 category: amateurs and former pros play in age groups from 35 up, in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. According to the organizers, almost 250 players from more than 40 countries came in 2025. In spring 2026 Fitz Club became the first venue in Thailand to receive the ITF Masters Star Tournament award - only 9 venues worldwide got it. Spectators are allowed in the stands, and the club usually runs its own tournaments with free entry. To find out how it works for the ITF this time, the easiest thing is to ask at the Fitz Club reception a couple of days before you go. The courts are right inside the Royal Cliff complex on the Pratamnak cape: seven floodlit hard courts, so the evening matches are played once it has cooled down. From here it's about a 10-minute walk to Cosy Beach and 15-20 minutes uphill to the Big Buddha. The road to Bali Hai, Walking Street and Dongtan Beach winds around the hill, so it's easier to take a baht bus (songthaew) or a taxi there, 5-10 minutes. Where to stay on Pratamnak during the tournament If you're only coming for the tournament week, hotels are your best bet. Royal Cliff is four hotels in one complex, and you can walk to the courts. Cheaper options are the hotels near Cosy Beach and along Pratamnak Road, a 10-15 minute walk from the courts. If the tournament is your excuse to stay for the whole season (and plenty of players do just that), have a look at condos. One-bedroom apartments on Pratamnak in our catalog go for 12,000 to 22,000 baht a month. The closest to the courts is, for example, a 40 m² studio in The Cliff for 17,000 baht a month: it's a few minutes' walk from Royal Cliff, with a waterfall pool and a sea view. The main catch: the price in listings is almost always for a one-year lease. For 1-3 months in high season owners ask for more, so check the price for your dates before you buy tickets. We covered extra fees, deposits and bills in our article on how much it costs to rent an apartment in Pattaya for a month, and compared Pratamnak with Jomtien and Wongamat in our guide to Pattaya's neighborhoods. What to see nearby between matches 1. Big Buddha (Wat Phra Yai) - an 18-meter golden statue at the top of the hill, free entry, open roughly from 7:00 to 22:00. Shoulders and knees must be covered, so it's better to change out of your tennis gear. More details on the Big Buddha page. 2. Pratamnak viewpoint - 98 meters above the sea, with a view over the whole of Pattaya Bay and Koh Larn on the horizon. The best time is an hour before sunset, when the day's play is already over. How to get there and what's nearby is on the viewpoint page. 3. Cosy Beach and Dongtan - two beaches at the foot of the hill. Cosy Beach is small and quiet, Dongtan is longer, with cafes and shade under the trees. 4. Sanctuary of Truth - a 105-meter wooden temple built without a single nail, and they're still finishing it. It's in the north of Pattaya and takes half a day, perfect for a day when your player isn't on court. A ticket at the box office is 500 baht, and an excursion to the Sanctuary of Truth is 800 baht: the price includes hotel pickup and drop-off, the entrance ticket and insurance, and it runs every day with a morning departure. Getting around Pratamnak is a hill, and walking uphill in the heat gets old fast. For short trips to the beach and Jomtien market a motorbike is handier: a Honda Click 125 for 250 baht a day or 1,500 baht a week. You need a license with category A and an international driving permit - without them you'll get fined at checkpoints, and insurance won't pay out after an accident. If there are two or three of you with rackets and bags, or you want to get out of town, a car is more convenient: a Toyota Vios from 1,250 baht a day or 4,900 baht a week. Insurance is included, the deposit is 5,000-15,000 baht, and you need an international or Thai driving license. What else is on in Pattaya in the second half of November If you're staying on after the tournament, catch Loy Krathong on the night of November 24: Pattaya has its own rules, for example you can't float krathongs in the sea. We've put everything about the festival in our Loy Krathong 2026 guide. And on November 27-28 the international fireworks festival takes place over Central Beach, free entry. You can see the fireworks from Pratamnak from afar, but the best spots are down by the sea - details in our article about the fireworks festival. The November weather is almost high season already: around +32 during the day, +25 at night, with short and rare showers. Just don't forget a cap for the daytime matches. In short: 1. ITF Masters tournament at Royal Cliff - mid-November, most likely the third week, exact dates not announced yet. 2. For a week - a hotel by the courts or near Cosy Beach; for the season - a condo on Pratamnak from 12,000 baht a month on a one-year lease. 3. Within walking distance of the courts - Cosy Beach and the Big Buddha; everything else by baht bus, motorbike or car. 4. After the tournament - Loy Krathong on November 24 and fireworks on November 27-28. All apartments with prices are in our Pattaya real estate catalog.
