Pattaya in November 2026: Wonder People Festival on 7-8 November, gala dinner and a weekend plan
The Wonder People international festival for young performers celebrates its fifth anniversary on 7-8 November at Brighton Grand in Naklua: a full day of competition and a gala dinner with a concert for 1,750 baht. Wondering what to do in Pattaya in early November? Mark 7-8 November. The Wonder People international festival-contest celebrates its fifth anniversary and brings dancers, singers, acrobats and young models from around the world to the Brighton Grand hotel in Naklua. Saturday is competition day, Sunday is a gala dinner with a concert.
The festival was created by Irkutsk arts educator Irina Kornilova: her "Wonder Kids" contest back home draws more than 1,200 participants every year. In Pattaya it went international from the start: in 2024 more than 500 performers from Russia, China, Australia, England, Korea, Germany and Thailand took the stage. Performers can be as young as 3 and there is no upper age limit, so adults share the stage with first-graders.
Weekend programme:
1. Saturday, 7 November, 8:00-22:00 - competition day in the M Grand 3 hall with 800 seats. Seven categories: dance, vocals, theatre, music, circus, poetry and fashion. An international jury judges, with the awards and Grand Prix in the evening.
2. Sunday, 8 November - gala dinner and concert with Jayson & Friends and the festival's prize winners. Registration from 17:30, doors open at 18:15.
A gala dinner ticket costs 1,750 baht per person and includes a Thai and international buffet and soft drinks. Dress code is smart casual, so save the shorts and flip-flops for the beach. Bookings go through organiser Rolf Rueegg on +66 81 762 7046. Festival proceeds go to Pattaya foundations that help children from low-income families get an education.
For competition day, ask ahead in the festival's Telegram channel: the organisers have not announced spectator tickets for 2026 yet, and in 2025 entry was free.
Brighton Grand is on Naklua Road in North Pattaya, a five-minute drive from Terminal 21. If you are staying in Jomtien or Pratumnak, you will be crossing the whole city.
Getting there:
1. Scooter - the fastest way through evening traffic on Second Road and Beach Road. Honda Click 125 from 250 baht a day, helmet included, an international licence with a motorcycle category is required.
2. Car - if you are dressed up for the gala: smart casual and a helmet do not mix well. Toyota Vios from 1,250 baht a day, insurance included.
3. Taxi via Bolt or Grab - if you plan to celebrate with a glass of wine: drink-driving is illegal in Thailand.
The gala only starts in the evening, so Sunday morning is free. The obvious move is the Sanctuary of Truth, right there in Naklua. This 105-metre wooden temple has been built without a single nail for decades now, and carvers work in front of visitors. The tour starts at 9:00, adults 800 baht, children 700, half a day.
If you caught the contest during the day, round off Saturday evening with the Alcazar show in VIP seats: shows at 17:00, 18:30, 20:00 and 21:30, hotel transfer both ways included, 900 baht. Also a stage, costumes and live sound, just with older performers. Nothing explicit, fine for kids.
