Direct flights to Phuket from Minsk, London, Zurich and Kuwait: starting October 18
From October 18 to 29, Virgin Atlantic, Edelweiss, Kuwait Airways and Belavia start non-stop flights to Phuket. Inside: schedules by day of the week, what matters for travellers from Belarus and Russia, and where to compare Phuket flight prices.
Phuket is getting more direct flights this autumn: between October 18 and 29, four airlines from Europe and the Middle East launch services to the island. Virgin Atlantic flies from London, Edelweiss from Zurich, Kuwait Airways from Kuwait and Belavia from Minsk. All flights are non-stop and run for the winter season.
Schedule by airline:
1. Virgin Atlantic, London (Heathrow) - Phuket - from October 18, three times a week: from London on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, back on Thursdays, Saturdays and Mondays. It is the airline's first route to the island.
2. Edelweiss, Zurich - Phuket - from October 25, three times a week. The Swiss carrier is back in Phuket for another winter.
3. Kuwait Airways, Kuwait - Phuket - from October 27, twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This is a brand-new route.
4. Belavia, Minsk - Phuket - first flights on October 21 and 23, then twice a week from October 29: from Minsk on Thursdays and Sundays, from Phuket on Fridays and Mondays.
For Russian-speaking travellers the big news is Belavia. Belarusians fly to the island without connections, and Russians get one more option via Minsk instead of connecting in Asia or the Middle East. Kuwait Airways suits those who live in the Gulf states or connect in Kuwait.
