Pattaya in November: free jazz festival on the beach, November 6-7

On November 6 and 7, Pattaya's central beach hosts a free international jazz festival. Here is when to come, how to get there without the parking hassle and where to stay if you make a whole November of it, with Loy Krathong and fireworks.

Pattaya in November opens with music: on November 6 and 7, Friday and Saturday, the Pattaya International Jazz Festival takes over Pattaya's central beach. Entry is free, no tickets needed. The festival is organised by Pattaya City Hall. City Hall is keeping the artists under wraps for now and promises to announce the line-up closer to the dates. The bar is high: in 2024 the headliner was Ronan Keating, and in 2025 ALL-4-ONE and the British jazz-funk band Shakatak played the beach. How it looked in previous years: the stage stands right on the sand, the music starts at 4 pm and plays until midnight, and food and drink stalls line the shore. Come by sunset to get a spot closer to the stage. During the concerts in previous years one lane of Beach Road was closed from 4 pm to midnight, and drivers were asked to park at Central Festival and nearby malls, with a shuttle running to the stage. A scooter makes it easy: ride up, park by the beach, go listen. For example, a Honda Click 125 costs 250 baht a day or 750 baht for three days, helmet and insurance included; an international driving licence is required. November in Pattaya is worth spending in full, not just the jazz weekend: 1. November 6-7 - jazz festival on the central beach. 2. November 24 - Loy Krathong, the water festival: in the evening thousands of people float krathong lanterns out to sea. 3. November 27-28 - the international fireworks festival, also on the central beach and also free. For a month like that, Jomtien is a comfortable base - the neighbouring beach south of the centre: quieter, and about 6 km from the concerts. A good fit is a one-bedroom apartment in The Riviera Jomtien: 35 m² on the 9th floor, panoramic pools on the 37th and 42nd floors, gym and sauna, 30,000 baht a month. From Bangkok, a transfer takes you door to door from 1,300 baht. Forward this to friends who will be in Pattaya in early November: they will have somewhere to go for free on Friday and Saturday night, and it is better to find out now than from the noise on the beach.
