Pattaya in late October 2026: Halloween, shows and parties - how to catch it all in one week
Late October in Pattaya means a whole Halloween week: a dry day on the 26th, themed parties, a bikini beach run and Walking Street on the 31st. Here is the calendar, the best shows to warm up with, and how to get around without hunting for taxis.
Pattaya in late October isn't about one night - it's a whole Halloween week. The big night is Saturday, October 31, but themed parties in clubs and hotels start earlier, and a few days before that the country has a dry day when alcohol isn't sold. Below: the calendar, where to celebrate, which show to see as a warm-up, and how to get around town without waiting half an hour for a taxi.
The week at a glance:
1. October 26, Monday - Ok Phansa, the end of Buddhist Lent. For 24 hours alcohol isn't sold anywhere in the country, neither in shops nor in most bars. A perfect evening for a show and dinner - save the party for later.
2. October 27-30 - clubs, bars and hotels roll out Halloween decor and themed nights. Malls join in too: last year Terminal 21 ran a Spooky Halloween program.
3. October 31, Saturday - the main day. Pattaya Beach hosts the International Bikini Beach Race, the 10th anniversary 5 km run themed "Sunset to Moonlight". At night everyone heads to Walking Street.
4. November 27-28 - the International Fireworks Festival, if you decide to stay longer.
On Halloween, Walking Street is the city's main stage. For 2025 the Graveyard Awakening festival was planned there: a horror parade, a haunted house, make-up artists right on the street, a costume contest and a DJ party. Because of the mourning for Queen Mother Sirikit, the evening program was called off and moved to 2026. Organizers publish details closer to the date - last year the full program came out in mid-October.
The best warm-up before Halloween is a cabaret show. Feathers, sequins and stage make-up are here all year round, so the mood fits perfectly. Your options:
1. Alcazar - the most famous ladyboy cabaret in Pattaya, about an hour of music, costumes and confetti. Front-row VIP seats with hotel transfer - 900 baht, shows at 17:00, 18:30, 20:00 and 21:30. Nothing explicit, kids are welcome, and after the show you can take photos with the performers.
2. Tiffany's and Colosseum - two more big cabaret theaters in town. If Alcazar's showtimes don't work for you, people usually choose between these two.
If you want a longer evening, there are two options with a show and dinner. Nong Nooch Evening - the botanical garden, elephant show and folk dances by day, a ladyboy show and buffet dinner in the evening. Pick-up around 12:00, the tour runs on Wednesdays and Saturdays - so October 28 and 31 - and an adult ticket is 2100 baht.
The second option, for the most atmospheric evening of the week without the horror, is Baan Sukhawadee palace with a cabaret show and dinner. A millionaire's mansion, a peacock park and an alley of "Avatar" trees that glows at night like a movie set. Daily from 16:00 to 20:00 with a Russian-speaking guide, the show starts at 17:00, price - 1000 baht. Just right for the dry day on October 26.
Now, how to do it all without taxis. The baht bus (a pickup with benches in the back) loops along Beach Road and Second Road; since April 2026 a ride costs 15-20 baht. It's the quickest way to reach Walking Street. On the night of November 1 a free pickup takes longer to catch, so keep small change and don't wait right at the street entrance.
Bolt and Grab cost roughly 60-150 baht for a short ride in town, but at peak hours app prices climb noticeably. On Halloween night the peak lasts until morning.
If you want to see more than the beach by your hotel this week, rent a car for the whole stay, not just one night. By day, drive to Nong Nooch, the Pratumnak viewpoints and the quiet Jomtien beaches. Toyota Vios - 1250 baht a day or 4900 baht a week, insurance included, an international driving permit is required. A scooter starts at 200 baht a day.
The golden rule for a car on Halloween: at night it stays parked at home. For drivers with less than 5 years of experience the alcohol limit is 0.02% BAC - practically zero - and 0.05% for everyone else. The fine is up to 20,000 baht, and a court can add up to a year in prison. Simple plan: drive by day, take the baht bus to Walking Street.
For a Halloween-week stay, Pratumnak and Jomtien are the most convenient: quieter than the center, and Walking Street is 10-15 minutes away by baht bus. Late October also opens the high season, and many people come for Halloween and stay for the winter. Then a condo beats a hotel: for example, a 33 m² apartment 300 meters from Jomtien Beach - 13,000 baht a month, with a pool and gym in the complex.
A couple of tips from people who live here. Late October is the tail end of the rainy season, and a short evening downpour is normal, so cardboard wings and water-based make-up will survive one outing at most. Book show tickets for October 31 in advance: on Halloween Saturday the evening shows sell out first.
