ABOVE THE CLOUDS +
SUNSET AT THE TEMPLE ON GLASS MOUNTAIN
A two-day trip from Pattaya to the highland region of Khao Kho,
where Thailand reveals a completely different side: cool air, green hills, misty sunrises, hot springs, and one of the country’s most unusual temples — Wat Phra That Pha Sorn Kaew.
The main highlight of the route is the temple on Glass Mountain, known for its five white Buddha statues, panoramic views, and mosaic facades decorated with millions of fragments of ceramics, glass, and porcelain. In the morning, weather permitting, you can see the famous “sea of clouds” here, and in the evening — watch the sunset and see the temple softly illuminated.
Khao Kho is often called one of the most picturesque mountain destinations in Central Thailand. People come here for the coolness, quiet, valley views, strawberry farms, flower parks, and an atmosphere very different from beach Thailand.
Program features.
This program is designed for tourists who are already familiar with classic routes of Thailand and want to see the country from another side — through mountain landscapes, temples, natural panoramas, and the atmosphere of the northern provinces.
The excursion is conducted in a relaxed format: no long hikes or serious physical exertion.
It is noticeably cooler in the Khao Kho mountains than at the coast, especially in the morning and evening, so we recommend bringing warm clothes.
The tour is organized individually from 2 people and can be scheduled for any convenient day. Along the way, there are stops at scenic places with panoramic views of mountains and valleys.
Departure from Pattaya is approximately at 04:30–05:00. Return is around 21:00 the next day. The longest transfer on the first day takes about 2 hours; other transfers between stops are about 15 to 90 minutes.
