Tolls on the Prachim Ratthaya Expressway, also known as the Si Rat-Outer Ring Road Expressway, will increase by 15-35 baht from Dec 15, with the rate for four-wheel vehicles rising from 65 baht to 80 baht in accordance with the terms of the concession agreement.
The Expressway Authority of Thailand (Exat) on Tuesday said the increase was stipulated in the agreement with Bangkok Expressway and Metro Plc (BEM), which fully financed the project.
Under the agreement, toll rates on the 16.7-kilometre expressway are to be adjusted by 15-35 baht every five years. The last increase took place in December 2021.
Exat said it was holding discussions with BEM and relevant agencies to work out appropriate measures to ease the financial burden on motorists and mitigate the impact of the increase.
Details of assistance measures will be announced in advance of the new rates taking effect on Dec 15.
